ACTi IP Wireless CCTV system secures Riverview apartment complex in Co. Westmeath, Ireland

This project comprised of 6 external ACTi ACM-7411 rugged domes, mounting on outdoor lighting poles which monitor all activities within the complex. The reason for choosing ACTi ACM-7411 domes was that the cameras not only met the technical requirements of the project, e.g. megapixel resolution, IP66 rated, weatherproof and vandal resistant, but also came with great price and performance value. “The system was networked to allow remote viewing and playback by the management company on both a PC and an iPhone, “said Eoin Gaughan, Managing Director of Avant Security.
 

This prestigious apartment located within the centre of Kilbeggan, Co. Westmeath consists of 62 apartments, 7 townhouses and 2 retail blocks as well as ample parking spaces. The installation of ACTi IP security system allows for complete peace of mind with regard to vehicle safety, personal safety and loitering.

Ubiquiti Wireless access points and clients were used to transmit signals back to the central recording station, which eliminated the need for civil work. The wireless transmission bandwidth in this system was 54 Mbps, which offered good capacity for the 6 camera's transmission. ACTi MPEG4 compression technology allows the bandwidth to be as small as 1Mbps/ per video stream for a good megapixel video quality.

The central management server consisted of an AverMedia EH 5216H Hybrid NVR containing 2 Terabytes of storage. The NVR was connected to a 40” TFT for live viewing and playback purposes.
